Non-guns or dummy guns are made mainly with parts from genuine firearms. Most of these non-guns are former military fully automatic firearms that have been mounted on a solid metal or non-firearm receiver. However they can not chamber nor fire a round. From the outside and sometimes even after close inspection it is very difficult for even some firearms experts to tell if these guns are real or not. |

There is no restrictions federally on owning these as they are not firearms and hence not federally controlled. CA is the only state that has any laws forbidding ownership (Unless painted entirely flor. orange)however it is your responsibility to check with your state and local authorities to make sure they are legal to own. New York City also forbids ownership. |
