MG 34 and MG 42 Lafette Manual

D 124/2  – The Maschinengewehr M.G. 34 Lafette 34.  The Ground Tripod, Description, Operation and Care.  March 5, 1943.   Complete description and operation of the ground tripod including the setup and mechanics of the Searching Fire Device.  Optics are not included in this manual.  Paperback, 44 pages.  An original wartime manual.  This Lafette (ground mount) is the same as for the MG42, with the exception of how the weapon is mounted to the Tripod.  According to the 1944 MG42 armorer’s manual (above), there wasn’t a separate MG42 Lafette manual, this MG34 Lafette manual was the only one issued and was to be referred to for the MG42 Lafette.  The searching fire device and Lafette is the same for both the 34 and 42 Lafette and its operation is detailed in this manual.
